This is the day that so many call “Low Sunday.” People are worn out after the extravaganza of Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
I get the feeling.
It’s still Easter, yes. But the alleluias are quieter, subtler. And that’s okay.
In the spirit of the day, here’s a prayer for this weekend from the Book of Common Prayer:
Almighty and everlasting God, who in this Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
